Vinyl Fatigue Interview
by:
Bizzy B
JD: How did you make the transition to the Jungle scene?
VF: I believe my first toe in the door was playing @ Konkrete Jungle in the late 90's and @ a few Brooklyn Outlaw partys and @ the infamous club Shelter
and Pseudo. Those are some of the older memories I have of when I first started playing out in New York's Jungle Scene.
JD: Are you a dj and if so, how has DJing changed your life?
VF: Yes I am a Dj, First most I am a Dj, I got into production to make my own variation of tunes that I loved. Djing changed my life drasticly,
Record shopping is worse than any drug addiction!
JD: What Equipment do you use for production?
VF: I use Sony's Acid Pro 7, Soundforge, a buncha rackmounted compressors, tube preamps, effects and processors.
JD How do you mix your tracks?
VF: I mainly use Sony's Soundforge for sampling and pre production equing and mixing/mastering. I use Sony's Acid Pro 7.0 for my Sequencing and Sample
Editing/Effects Processing. After my main tune is pretty much written, I run it through a series of effects processors to beef up and enhance
my sound.
JD: What is your Best moment in Music?
VF: Whenever i'm rocking a crowd, I love the feeling of making people move to my music.
JD: How were you able to make the transition into Jungle Music?
VF: Jungle was the first electronic music that made me want to go out and be a Dj, I guess it called me, and I answered its call.
JD: What`s in the pipeline?
VF: New Mixes and Tunes... plan on a bunch of Digital releases over the next few months aswell as a few Vinyl releases in the near future.
Be on the lookout for Jungle Gym Recordings, Amen Assassins own Old School Preservation label.
JD: What clubs/parties have you recently played at?
VF: Been traveling around America alot, touching base @ most of the Konkrete Jungle chapters and plan on a tour with D.I.S.,Osci and Raggascum from
Clashplate sound and Warlord Dubplate.
JD: How has dance music changed since it started for you?
VF: It has completely changed, since the early to mid 90's the sound has changed from the original organic sound to a sort of industrial,
mechanical sound. but there are still some original aspects
that have been kept. I don't really pay much mind to dance music in a whole, im specifying more twords hardcore, jungle and drum n bass.
JD: What is your favorite venue to spin at?
VF: Konkrete Jungle Nyc, my home and my personal birthplace for jungle music in new york.
JD: How do you think the scene has changed over the years?
VF: the scene has had its ups and downs over the years, i'd say it is struggling alot nowadays, but the true soldiers are still there to
keep the foundation holdin up.
JD: Any Bigups?
VF: Blessings and Respect go out to all my crew, junglists worldwide, All the Amen Assassin Squad, biggups to Dj Ren from Don Fm, Beatgem,
Dj Bazia, Goldenchild, Whiteowl, Raggascum, and all Owned Clothing Crew. Rest in Peace Joe Pop.
